Sporting Fall.....

You know it's coming.. that time of year when the air becomes so crisp you almost feel it would break. It's my favorite time of year... Autumn.  Being the good Celtic-blooded woman that I am.. I am naturally drawn to warm cozy fabrics, tweeds and tartans.  I love the feel of casual wear in Autumn. It's like snuggling under a warm blanket on a cool Fall day or holding a cup of warm hot chocolate.

For the woman on the go...fast, easy, casual dressing is essential.  Today I chose to put together such a look and I incorporated menswear! That great top is from Fatewear.. yes.. it's like grabbing your husband's or boyfriend's fleece sport top and dashing out the door.  The top is mesh that includes all standard sizing.  I paired it with a simple mini skirt from Maitreya and topped it off with their Stagioni boots for ultimate comfort.

The last rose of summer...

Lillou Design's has offered this ethereal gown called "Georgia" at October's Trending Fashion Chamber.

Recalling the gardens of old stately manor homes, this dress features a stunning spray of blue roses and purple rose petals across the bodice of a printed fishtail dress swimming in fine tulle; a pure delight for any woman who adores the romantic. Lillou has thoughtfully provided such accessories as white gloves as well as a tulle hat accented with the same blue roses and petals.

Before the autumn leaves fly.. let us celebrate the last warmth of the summer sun and the beauty of roses..

LivGlam has released to October's Trending Fashion Chamber this delicious mesh dress called "Decadence."  It's luscious deep red berry silk satin fabric hugs your body in all the right ways...making it an appealing dress for that special night out.  Accented with chiffon skirt layers and a little back shoulder bow, you will certainly turn heads as you glide through the room.  I accessorized the dress with the "Glamorous" jewelry set from ((Crystal Line)) along with dark rose lipstick from Baiastice.

 A Night at the Races

How could a lady resist an invitation to the races! I knew the perfect ensemble that would fit the bill.  One quick stop to October's Trending Fashion Chamber, I quickly located an elegant outfit designed by *LIV-Glam.  Mesh black pants (in standard sizing) matched with an white lace bustier accompanied by an elegant fur capelet provided an outfit of ease and style.

I added black gloves, black pumps, a cigarette holder and stunning diamond earrings to complete the ensemble.

Of course, not wanting to blend in with the rest of the elegant crowd at the horse track. I decided to wear a distinctive makeup ensemble created by the talented Mocksoup Graves of M.O.C.K.  Her Infinity Leopard eye shadow and Watermelon lip shine can also be found at October's.  Grab your limo and visit!

As I continued my visit to October's Trending Fashion Chamber, I discovered this wonderful fantasy fairy angel ensemble designed by Lillou Merlin of Lillou Designs. Entitled Kelty - Fairy Angel, wisps of white lace and fabric enfold you. The dress is accented with white fur at the hip. It is the perfect fantasy wedding dress for any woman who loves whimsy and romance as she floats down the aisle.  I accented the outfit with the Gwyneira necklace and Precious Queen crown from Alienbear.

Trending in the Chamber...

This week has marked the opening of October's Trending Fashion Chamber. It is an inclusive shopping experience of the latest clothing, accessories and poses.  Designed for both male and female, the chamber features a myriad of wonderful diversity we see in fashion and design that is not limited to just one genre.

One of the featured items in the Chamber right now is this stunning jewelry suite created by the talented Belle Roussel of Chop Zuey Couture Jewelry. Entitled "Nectar of Life Hummingbird", this stunning and vibrant ensemble includes a choker, earrings and ring with onyx, apatite, pink sapphire, amethyst and diamond.  It is part of the The Animal Speaks Collection and was showcased at the 2011 BOSL Fashion Week show.

To accent this stunning jewelry set, I chose the Wild Glitter eye makeup designed by Madrid Solo. Known for her delightful fantasy makeup, Madrid brings us a intensely beautiful eye enhancement. You receive four wonderful choices when you make your purchase.  Do not overlook this great addition to your fashion wardrobe at October's!

Across the pond...

Speaking of Skip Staheli, my best friend and fellow model, Vivienne Coppola asked Skip to construct a portrait of us based on a discussion that she and I had regarding the current America's Top Model television program where models from the United States and England were competing against each other.  Skip came up with this wonderful picture.  And in the spirit of the upcoming Olympic Games in London.. let the games begin!

Portrait of a Lady

I asked the famed SL photographer/artist, Skip Staheli, if he would do a portrait shot of me to add to my portfolio.  I have always admired the famed model of the 1960's, Jean Shrimpton.  She had a classic look that always appealed to me growing up.  I showed Skip a few photographs of Jean and told him that I wanted that vintage look and feel.  Above is the results.. and I couldn't be more happier.  Thank you, Skip!

Fantasy Faire has started; don’t miss this wonderfully magical event, created for Relay for Life. I walked the entire Faire this weekend and found myself lost in eight lovely sims which are not to be missed!

The sims:
* Devil’s Locket (by Lauren Thibaud) – a small chain of islands that earned its name not only for the treacherous navigation of its waters and the amazing, but explosive, firegems that were mined from its volcanic depths
* Jungle Bungle (by Mayah Parx) – a living forest where candies lay like pebbles along the edge of a chocolate lake and the smiling trees dance in excitement as they watch the fae race rose petals on the currents of the wind
* Meandervale (by Marcus Inkpen/ Sharni Azalee) – a surreal meadow where the streams meander as well as thoughts and, in fact, reality itself
* Ruins of Nu Orne (by Elicio Ember) – a lost stone city of an ancient civilization, hidden in an exotic fantasy jungle where vegetation overgrows the magnificent ruins, and cupolas and spiraling buildings merge with the gigantic ferns and mushrooms
* Shadow’s Claw (by Laufey Markstein) – a mountainous terrain thick with the scent of pine and covered with rocky crags that ride all manner of secrets, possibly even dragons
* Shifting Sands (by Kayle Matzerath) – the Hourglass holding the Sands of Time has cracked and spilled creating a desert with untold treasures awaiting discoveries by the intrepid explorer
* Siren’s Secret (by Elicio Ember) – caught between lava vents on one side and the bridges and towers of The Tides on the other, these rocky sea caves are a refuge for the sea creatures who hide in the depths of the kelp forest
* The Tides (by Alia Baroque) – the silent ruins of a lost society who harnessed the power of the strong and heavy sea and ruled across the waves

About half way through the Faire, I suddenly felt very out of place in my regular life clothing.  Along my travels I paid a visit to MysticHope by Kira Lavendel and purchased two outfits. In my photo above, you will see me channeling my inner Xena, Warrior Princess with her design, Elissas Justice Earth.  A trip to the Fallen Gods sponsored sim was met with great delight at finding this mesh hair from Wasabi Pills.  With a few other added pieces my look was complete. I struck a pose with one of the statues adorning The Tides sim as a little remembrance of my trip to Fantasy Faire.

Midnight in the Garden

"Midnight in the Garden" -
I was invited to an event to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic and was asked to put together a look appropriate to 1912.  Having just attended the same type of event in real life,  I was familiar with the fashions of the era.  I knew the dress that was going to be the basis of the outfit. It was the new group gift release by Poulet Koenkamp of PurpleMoon. (see the original outfit here: "Marlene"). The design of the base skirt and the lovely doubled bowed sash made for a perfect start.  I moved the sash higher to create the empire waist look..and then added a black organza sheer overskirt.  Since the original Marlene dress was strapless, I needed to find the right top to get the similar look to the top that I was using for my inspiration.  A meander through my inventory revealed the perfect thing, the top from Whippet & Buck's Meela Lace Dress... with a slight color touch-up to match the skirt.. it completed the overall look.  I decided on an Edwardian hairstyle and completed the look with jewelry from Electica.
